1. slang An exaggeration beyond what is true, likely, or logical. I'm not too fond of taxes either, but claiming they are the cause of all our problems is quite a stretch. A: "Another round of layoffs. I bet the boss gets off on firing people, just because he can ." B: "Come on now, don't you think that's a bit of a stretch?"
2. slang A term in prison or jail. I did a stretch in Sing Sing a few years ago. Those were the worst five years of my life. She's headed for a seven-year-stretch in federal prison for her involvement in the scandal.
3. slang A term of address for a particularly tall person. How's it going, stretch? Nice view from up there?
