1. To toss, hurl, or lob someone or something over the top of something. A noun or pronoun is used between "pitch" and "over." The crew began pitching over anything that would weigh the boat down in the water. The rebels pitched every government sympathizer over the side of the cliff.
2. To toss, hurl, or lob something to someone across some short distance. A noun or pronoun can be used between "pitch" and "over." She wanted to know what book I was reading, so I pitched it over to her. Pitch over my keys, would you? I need to open the car.
