1. To gripe, complain, or sulk about someone or something (to one). Primarily heard in Ireland. Don't give out to me about how much homework you've got—it's not my problem! Some customers are giving out about the new waiter.
2. To scold or chastise one about someone or something. Primarily heard in Ireland. He spent the whole meeting giving out about our quarterly sales figures. Don't give out to Brian about something he couldn't have controlled.
