hop on(to something)

To get or climb onto something; to board something;. I hopped on my bike and took off for the park. You can hop on the subway at the next stop and meet me in the third car.

hop on (to something)

to jump or get onto something that is moving. Sometimes you have to hop onto the cable car after it has started to move. I ran to the cable car and hopped on.
