won't hear a word against (someone or something)

Won't entertain any criticism about someone or something. Unfortunately, the rampant partisanship has made it so that most voters won't hear a word against their candidate, even if the facts say differently. Now you all stop that. I won't hear a word against my nephew. I know he's been in some trouble, but he's a good boy.
