1. What's happening? What's new with you? (Used as a greeting.) A: "Hey, Jake, what's going on?" B: "Not much, Mike. How you been?" What's going on, everyone? You all have a good weekend?
2. What has happened or is currently happening? (Used as an inquiry or rebuke about something that is wrong or strange.) Hey, what's going on? Why are these doors unlocked? What on earth is going on in here? I leave you two kids alone for five minutes, and I find you in here coloring on the walls!
