What is (someone) up to?

1. What are you doing right now? Used to ask how someone is spending their time, sometimes to inquire into their availability. A: "I saw Tracy last night." B: "Oh, cool. What's she up to these days?" Hey, what are you up to on Saturday? Want to go see a movie with me?
2. What mischief is someone plotting or involved in? Used to express suspicion about someone's behavior or intentions. What are those kids up to? They keep whispering to each other like they're scheming something.
