To endure something painful, unpleasant, or otherwise dissatisfactory; to deal with or recover from some hardship or stress. I hated having to work two jobs, but with three small kids at home, I knew I just had to suck it up. Dan: "I can't believe the other kids would make fun of me like that." Tammy: "Oh, suck it up, Dan; they'll only tease you more if you have a tantrum."
