come from a good place
come from a good place
To have or be motivated by good or altruistic intentions, even if the results or consequences are undesirable. I know that you're coming from a good place, but please stop trying to set me up on dates with people you know. Most diet fads come from a good place originally, before being distorted into something totally ludicrous.
