slang Someone who has a lot of experience in something. A play on, and the opposite of, "newbie." Used especially in reference to the Internet or competitive video games. As an oldbie in the MMORPG scene, I have to say that their most recent expansion pack was pretty underwhelming. The oldbies in these forums have been around long enough to recognize trolls right away.
