live for the moment

To focus on the pleasure one can have in the present, without concern for the consequences one may face in the future. I've always lived for the moment, preferring to spend what I earn on vacations and nice things right then and there. Of course, I don't have much in the way of savings now, though. My brother lived for the moment, never stopping to think that his lifestyle might have some serious ramifications on his health down the line.
