give (something) back (to someone) with interest
give (something) back (to someone) with interest
To return something to someone with more than they originally gave. Although often applied to monetary exchanges, the phrase can be used more broadly. When my parents loaned me money, I promised to give it back to them with interest. I'm sure they appreciate your generosity and will give it back to you with interest.
