1. To behave foolishly or idly waste time. The employees were crapping around the office until the boss showed up. Quit crapping around and pay attention in class!
2. To interfere, meddle, or trifle with something or someone. (Usually followed by "with.") You need to learn not to crap around with other people's belongings. I'm sick and tired of the government crapping around with us.
