To deal with something in a more courageous and sensible way than one has done hitherto. A play on and response to the term "man up," which associates such traits as being inherently masculine. Usually used imperatively. You need to woman up, put your pride aside, and do what's right for your company. Woman up and tell your boss that you deserve compensation for all this extra work!
