use over

use (something) over

1. To reuse something; to use something for the same purpose again. Technological improvements in the way the space shuttle is created have allowed scientists to use most of its parts over again, saving the space agency millions of dollars for each mission. The material never dries out, so your kids can use it over and over for playtime.
2. To choose to use something instead of something else. Why do you use this particular operating system over the one that came pre-installed on the computer? Why are they using that other advertising company over ours?
