up, up, and away
up, up, and away
1. A clichéd phrase used by superheroes just as they are about to fly into the air. A: "Thank you so much, Superman!" B: "All in a day's work, ma'am. Now I'm off to thwart more evildoers. Up, up, and away!"
2. Used by extension when any person or thing is flying or about to take flight. On the leader's signal, we'll all let go of the ropes at once, and the giant balloon will be up, up, and away!
3. Used when any person or thing is experiencing continued or growing success. The stock market has been up, up, and away following news of the new trade agreements. If we could just get a little bit of funding to get our project off the ground, we'd be up, up, and away in no time!
