sunder out (someone or something)
old-fashioned To separate and segregate some person, thing, or group from a larger collection of people or things. The headmaster sundered out the group of troublesome boys for punishment, keen to make an example of them for the rest of the class. Several articles of the proposed legislation have been sundered out for greater scrutiny by the congressional committee.
