taxi rank

taxi rank

A designated area on the street, as outside an airport, where one can find a cab for hire. Primarily heard in UK. A: "Come on, the taxi rank is just up ahead." B: "I can't lug these bags all the way over there!" She told me there's a taxi rank right outside the tube station, so we should be able to get a ride no problem.
