take (something) as it comes

take (something) as it comes

To deal with or manage something as it occurs, as opposed to planning for it beforehand. In life, you just have to take every challenge as it comes—there's no instruction manual. There's no way of knowing how many people will show up, so we'll just take it as it comes.
