thirsty for (someone or something)

1. Literally, to desire or crave a drink of something. I was so thirsty for water by the end of the race that I could barely speak. After a long day of working under the hot sun, I get incredibly thirsty for a cold beer.
2. By extension, having an intense or insatiable craving for something, especially that which is intangible. I grew up in a small rural town where nothing of much interest ever happened, so I was thirsty for adventure by the time I graduated from high school. It's becoming increasingly clear that the Grand Vizier is thirsty for absolute power, not only in his own country but across the entire continent. She's always been such an inquisitive child, thirsty for knowledge from a very young age.
3. slang Having an intense or desperate sexual or romantic desire for someone or some type of person. The whole time I've known him he's been thirsty for women. He just never seems happy or content to be by himself. I never fail to get thirsty for a man I see wearing a police uniform. Something about it just drives me wild!

Someone craving or desiring a drink of some kind. We're looking for a few thirsty souls to try out and give feedback on our new range of non-alcoholic cocktails. No matter the time of day, there's always some thirsty soul drinking their sorrows away at my local bar.
