somewhere/some place to hang (up) (one's) hat
somewhere/some place to hang (up) (one's) hat
Some house or area in which one lives, whether permanently or temporarily. I never really found anywhere that I would really call my home. Every city I've ever lived in has just been some place to hang my hat. After such a nomadic life in my 20s, I think I'm ready to settle down and find somewhere to hang up my hat.
