Someone who often engages in sedentary activities, usually understood as frequently watching television; a couch potato. "Spud" is an informal term for a potato. Lisa wants to date a man who loves to travel and try new things, not some sofa spud who stays home all day. I'm not letting you kids turn into sofa spuds this summer. Now put on your shoes, and let's go for a hike!
