slang An initialism of "bring your own marijuana," a play on "BYOB" ("bring your own beer"), which is typically used of a place or event that does not serve beer but permits patrons to bring it with them. After the recent legalization of recreational marijuana, a number of BYOM bars and restaurants began cropping up all over the state.
