scratch sheet

A racing publication that provides detailed odds and information of racehorses and their jockeys to prospective gamblers. Also known as a "dope sheet." I quit gambling five years ago, but I still like to look over the scratch sheets at the race tracks just to feel a little bit of that rush again.

n. a daily horse-racing newsletter at the racetrack. I picked up a scratch sheet from Lucky Louie and proceeded to lay down my life’s saving on a horse named Felicity Anne.
