To be experiencing a particularly joyous or successful period, situation, or event. The senator rode the crest of renewed enthusiasm among his party to a huge victory in the election. Riding the crest of his recent promotion, John set to work designing something really remarkable. The champion has his work cut out for him against the underdog, who is currently riding the crest of a five-bout winning streak.
