resound with (something)

1. To be filled with some very loud, reverberating, or prolonged sound. The crowded courtroom resounded with the cheers of the victims following the guilty verdict. The streets have been resounding with gunfire since the rebellion began.
2. To be filled or abuzz with discussion of, or excitement about, or a clamor for something. The country has resounded with calls for the prime minister's resignation ever since the controversial legislation was first put forward. The entire region is resounding with the news of the allies' victory in the war.
