1. To move or travel along (something or some place) in a twisting, winding, wriggling manner, like a snake. The competing cyclists snaked along the twisting mountain roads so fast that it's a wonder none of them got sick! I threw myself down on my stomach and snaked along in the mud to avoid detection.
2. To lie or run in a twisting, turning pattern (across the length of something). The San Juan River snakes along for over 400 miles between Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. I'd always heard that you can see the Great Wall of China snaking along the hills of Northern China from space, but apparently that's just a myth!
