pass through mind

pass through(one's) mind

To occur to or be thought of by one; to become an idea in one's mind. Take time to form your response to the interviewer—don't just blurt out the first thing that passes through your mind. I haven't thought of my high school English teacher in years, so I'm not sure why she passed through my mind today.
