Used to try to avoid causing offense when one has just said something that has possible negative connotations. Popularized by and commonly attributed to the television series Seinfeld. The change in the company's position really comes down to the pursuit of profits. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just don't assume they are doing this for the benefit of anyone but themselves. I'd rather spend my time learning something new or improving my health, not wasting it on video games or trashy television. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. What people do with their own time is up to them.
