jock

1. informal A shortening of "disc jockey." Primarily heard in US. He had a pretty prominent career as a rock jock, so it was a little weird hearing him spin new-age tunes for a different radio station. The local radio station is looking for a jock to fill its new hip-hop slot.
2. informal A shortening of "jockstrap." Primarily heard in US. Yuck, I think these dirty jocks have been in my gym bag since the summer!
3. informal Someone who is very skilled at or passionate about sports, especially in school or college. Often used in a dismissive or derogatory manner to imply a lack of intelligence, creativity, or empathy. (Derived from the shortening of "jockstrap.") Primarily heard in US. I was definitely a bit of a jock in high school, but I focused much more on academics when I went to college. It's true that she's an incredible athlete, but she's not just some stereotypical jock.
4. offensive slang A derogatory term for a Scottish person (derived from the Scottish variant for the name "Jack"). The word is capitalized in this usage. Primarily heard in UK. Oy, Jock! Why don't you move back north and leave our jobs alone! Someone spray painted the word "Jock" on our front door shortly after we moved into the house.

jockstrapper

informal Someone, especially a male, who is very skilled at or passionate about sports, especially in school or college. Often used in a dismissive or derogatory manner to imply a lack of intelligence, creativity, or empathy. Sometimes spelled as two words. I used to be pretty good friends with Tom in middle school, but he started hanging out with the jockstrappers in high school and didn't really talk to me much after that. It's true that he's an incredible athlete, but he's not just some stereotypical jock strapper.

rock jock

1. Someone who is very skilled at rock climbing or does so very often. I'd love to try out the rock wall at my gym, but it's always crawling with rock jocks. I'm not enough of a rock jock to tackle a cliff like that.
2. A radio disc jockey specializing in rock music. He had a pretty prominent career as a rock jock, so it was a little weird hearing him spin new-age tunes in a new station.
3. An enthusiastic fan of rock music. My uncle's been a rock jock his whole life, so he's always blasting AC/DC and Metallica whenever I take a ride in his truck.

veejay

1. noun A spelling of the pronunciation of "VJ," an initialism of "video jockey," referring to someone who introduces or describes videos, especially music videos, as during live performances or for a television program. He used to be a really popular veejay on MTV back in the day.
2. verb To work as a video jockey. I heard he got a gig veejaying for some new music channel on weekends.
3. noun, slang A woman's vagina. I'd really rather not discuss what's going to happen to my veejay when the baby arrives, thanks.
