It is or turned out to be beneficial (that something happened). It turned out we had a pop quiz on Monday. Just as well I was studying this weekend! It's just as well we brought our raincoats, because it looks like it's about to rain. A: "My brother said he'd give us a lift to the airport in the morning." B: "Just as well, because I don't have any money for a taxi."
