install as (something)

To formally induct someone into a particular office or role. A noun or pronoun can be used between "install" and "as." Sharon will be installed as our mayor next Friday.

to inaugurate or launch someone into the role of something. The board installed Jerry as the new parliamentarian. She installed herself as the boss of the kitchen and wouldn't allow anyone else in.
