hell of a time
1. Describing something (often a task or chore) that is, was, or will be very difficult or unpleasant. I always have a hell of a time trying to get my kids ready for school in the morning. They are just too rambunctious for me at that hour.
2. Describing something that is, was, or will be very fun or exciting. We had one hell of a time at that party last night. It was so much fun.
