1. To enter some place or become an active participant in some situation, such as a sports game. Often used as an imperative. Johnson, get in there and cover number eight. You'd better get in there before the store closes.
2. By extension, a phrase used to encourage someone to do something toward some goal. Now go on, get in there and try your best.
