fuzz out

1. To blur an image of a person or thing in order to make it difficult or impossible to distinguish. A noun or pronoun can be used between "fuzz" and "out." My job was fuzzing out nudity from R-rated movies that we would play on our TV network. Newspapers were required to fuzz the boy out in pictures to protect his identity.
2. To impair or dull one's senses or ability to think correctly, as due to intoxication. A noun or pronoun can be used between "fuzz" and "out." The doctor prescribed some pain medication after the surgery, but I hate the way it fuzzed me out. Sorry, I've been a bit fuzzed out ever since I hit my head.
