COMMON If someone or something comes from nowhere or out of nowhere, they appear suddenly and unexpectedly. I remember looking both ways before crossing and seeing nothing. The car came from nowhere and hit me. All of these diseases have appeared seemingly out of nowhere, causing much misery and death. The film appeared out of nowhere and looks likely to disappear just as quickly.
