1. To explode or blow up. (The word "kablooey" is supposed to imitate the sound of an explosion.) I hope the electrician hooked all of these wires up correctly—I don't want anything going kablooey in my basement!
2. To go completely awry; to totally fail. Plans for the gala went kablooey after our chief donor backed out and took his millions with him.
