1. offensive slang A derogatory term for a gay male, especially one considered flamboyant. I remember the other kids in middle school calling me a flamer just because I wore a purple shirt. I loved that shirt.
2. slang Someone who writes inflammatory messages online, especially those targeted toward someone, as on a forum or message board. (A "flame" is such a message.) If the message board administrators think you're a flamer, they're going to suspend your account.
