1. To be crazy or utterly irrational. He's out of his mind if he thinks this plan is going to work! After yet another sleepless night, I'm starting to feel like I'm out of my mind.
2. To be not fully conscious or coherent in thought. I've been a little out of my mind ever since I started taking these new painkillers. He drank so many shots of tequila that he was completely out of his mind by the end of the night.
