chip in with (something)

1. To contribute to something being undertaken by a group, such as a task or collection. If everyone chips in with some time, we can clean this garage in pretty quickly.
2. To offer money as a bet in a game, such as poker. Hurry up and chip in with something for this hand.
3. To join in a discussion about something; to offer one's thoughts. When I heard them discussing my department, I just had to chip in with my own suggestions.
