1. To act wildly or rambunctiously with someone, typically while making a lot of noise. Would you quit carrying on with your brother like that? I can't hear myself think!
2. To have an affair with someone. Did you see the big reveal at the end of last week's episode? The maid has been carrying on with the lord of the manor!
3. To flirt with someone. Quit carrying on with Ted like that—he's a married man! I turned around and saw my boyfriend carrying on with some hussy at the bar.
