1. If two people, for example politicians, are a dream ticket, they are expected to work well together and have a great deal of success. The move raised the prospect of a `dream ticket' of Tony Blair as leader and John Prescott as his deputy. It should have been Hollywood's dream ticket: husband and wife Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman starring together in a romantic blockbuster movie.
2. If an opportunity or a situation is a dream ticket, it is perfect. To design a Supercar remains an engineer's dream ticket. Note: In the United States, a ticket is a list of candidates that a political party has nominated for election. A `dream ticket' is a pair of candidates that seem to be perfectly matched and who will attract a lot of support.
