A test that a film passes if it contains two female characters who talk to each other about something other than a man. The test is named for American cartoonist Allison Bechdel, who first proposed it in her comic strip Dykes to Watch Out For. Nope, that movie doesn't pass the Bechdel test—the two women in it only talked to each other about their husbands.
