faux-hawk
noun a hairstyle in which a central section (running from front to back) is grown longer/higher than the hair on the rest of the head. Pronounced 'fohawk'; this is a play on the 'mohawk' haircut (which this style approximates) and 'faux' (fake, artificial). Footballer and style-icon David Beckham sported the style in the summer of 2002
