It is one's time to die, suffer, or be punished. My only wish is that I don't feel any pain when my number is up. This evidence proves that the senator was part of the conspiracy. His number's up this time.

(informal) somebody is about to die or experience something very unpleasant: There’s no point worrying about getting killed in a plane crash. When your number’s up, your number’s up. The police have the evidence they need to arrest him, so it looks as if his number’s up.
