Who is guarding the guards?
cliché Who makes sure that those in the highest positions of power or authority remain accountable? Derived from a loose translation of the Latin phrase quis custodiet ipsos custodes from the ancient Roman poet and satirist Juvenal. The military junta seized power, claiming its aim was to protect the nation from the corrupt government. Now, of course, the question is, who is guarding the guards? The oversight committee is made up of business people who directly benefit from the sort of immoral practices the committee is meant to be preventing. So, who is guarding the guards?
