Normal or expected deterioration and minor damage of something from frequent or ongoing use. Sure, after 100,000 miles, my car has some wear and tear on it, but overall, I'd say it's in pretty good shape. We won't take money from your security deposit to fix normal wear and tear on the house, but any major damage will result in a deduction.
