1. To fold some material underneath itself. A noun or pronoun can be used between "turn" and "under." The legs of the pants were a little bit too long, so I just turned the cuffs under. You can turn the sheet under to make it a little bit thicker.
2. To dig up something and rebury it under the soil beneath. A noun or pronoun can be used between "turn" and "under." If any crops end up too small or sickly-looking to pick, we just turn them under to give their nutrients back to the soil. You'll want to turn the soil under before you plant your seeds.
