slang, cliché Really excellent; awesome. Originated as surfer slang, referring to the cylindrical passage of a wave formed by its crest tipping forward in an arc. A: "My mom said we could have a party here next Saturday!" B: "Whoa, tubular!" My son said the pizza was "totally tubular," so I guess that means he liked it.
