In a state of mental or emotional agitation due to something. You're getting worked up over nothing—I'm sure the doctor will tell you it's nothing. Mom sounded really worked up over it when I spoke to her on the phone. The professor said she really needed to speak with me later, and now I'm all worked up over it. What if I'm failing the course?
